The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office has made two arrests in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries reported over the past weekend, according to Sheriff Donnie Crum.
Cody Eugene Guinn, 18, of Crawfiordville and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested on multiple counts of grand theft, burglary of a conveyance and petit theft in connection with at least seven vehicle burglaries reported in the Wakulla Gardens area and Songbird subdivision in Crawfordville from June 8 to June 10.
Detectives received confidential information that Guinn and the juvenile were involved in the burglaries. The two were interviewed and allegedly admitted their involvement. They led the detectives to much of the stolen property.
Guinn and the juvenile were arrested. The juvenile was released to a parent.
Sheriff Crum stressed the importance of locking your vehicle while you are away from it and making sure all valuables are removed. Some of the stolen items that have been recovered include wallets, firearms, a compound bow, knives, CDs, sunglasses and a GPS unit.
