Artist Susan Hopkins will visit on Saturday

Raised in West Palm Beach, Susan Hopkins acquired the love of creating art an early age.

“Growing up in Florida gave me the awesome opportunity of being a part of one of the most unique and diverse natural surroundings in the world. For example, I was raised in bright, tropical South Florida, which is known for beautiful beaches and swampy everglades. The past several years I have lived in North Florida, in the small, rural town of Monticello, where I can experience gentle rolling hills, huge oak trees adorned with Spanish moss, crystal clear springs and rivers and the ever-changing colors of the four seasons.”

“I love visiting other places in Florida and sharing my experience. Inspired by God and nature, I believe we are given little miracles each day. My goal is to put the viewer there and place them in that moment so that they can experience that same feeling”

A mostly self-taught artist, Susan works mostly in oils and is known for her choice of beautiful subject matter painted with a realistic style and combination of glorious color which captures not only the likeness of the places she visits, but also their spirit.

When she is not painting, Susan enjoys spending time with her family, riding horses, gardening and cooking.
