Boat ramp to close

Lake Ellen boat ramp is on private property; owner closes it to public

By Nancy Imperiale

Concerned residents packed the Wakulla County Commission meeting Monday night to discuss the Lake Ellen boat ramp.
The boat ramp sits on private property. For years, the owners allowed the public to use it.
But Steven Fults bought the property in January and realized there was no room to park his 45-foot houseboat except on the boat ramp. So he petitioned the county for help.
His neighbors begged the county Monday night not to close the ramp.
