In the June 25 issue of The Wakulla News, James Johnson, in a Letter to the Editor, took issue with environmentalists interfering with private property rights, and then wonders how wildlife survived through the centuries without such folks’ help.
The answer is, unfortunately and often, not very well. Here are a couple of examples.
A few hundred years ago, there were individual flocks of passenger pigeons in North America that covered many square miles and contained more than a billion birds.
