Oktoberfest and Protestant Reformation to be celebrated

-A A +A

On Saturday, Oct. 28 from 2 to 6 pm, Trinity Lutheran Church on Hwy. 98 will celebrate Oktoberfest and 500 years of the Protestant Reformation.
Pony rides, craft tables, bounce house, music, popcorn, balloons, hot dogs, brats, etc. will be provided for all to enjoy. The church is offering this free of charge to those who wish to participate..
Good will offerings and those of non-perishable food items would be much appreciated and will go to hurricane relief efforts.
It happens that this year the traditional time for Oktoberfest coincides with the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s posting of his 95 Theses on the church door in Wittenberg, Germany on Oct. 31, 1517. There will be a replication of the church door and a display of the 95 Theses for all to read. The posting of these Theses was the beginning of what became one of the most important events in the history of the Christian Church – the Protestant Reformation.
All are welcome to this dual celebration of fun and historical significance.
If anyone would like to participate with a craft table, a donation of $25 is requested. Space is limited, so please reserve yours as soon as possible.
