07/14/2012 - 10:00am - 3:00pm

Begin your day in charming historic downtown Sopchoppy, FL - home of the famous SOPCHOPPY WORM GRUNTIN' FESTIVAL!  Stroll along for a few blocks on this highly popular walking tour with Green Guide Friend, Richard Harden through the streets of this small town that reminds visitors of Mayberry.  Richard knows Sopchoppy.  He grew up in these parts and his family roots go way back. Richard will recount some personal anecdotes while he points out historic buildings and bits of history that make Sopchoppy so charming. Your morning tour departs at 10:00 a.m. from the newly restored train depot, the only remaining depot on the old G,F&A Railway.  In between your morning and afternoon tours, plan to visit some of the delightful shops featuring work of local artisans and perhaps stay for a bite to eat. Visit the Sopchoppy Grower's Market on the lawn in front of Posh Java 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM.  Or plan a delightful picnic in beautiful Sopchoppy City Park (Myron B. Hodge) along the banks of the Sopchoppy River while you wait for the second part of your tour to begin.

Then step aboard The Wakulla Explorer for your afternoon journey back into time on the winding Sopchoppy River. You will cruise on the very comfortable 30 ft. solar/hybrid pontoon boat (wheelchair accessible), partially covered with 360 degree viewing. Music and refreshments are available for your enjoyment (bottled water and snacks available for $1 onboard purchase). You will be enlightened and entertained by Certified Green Guide Capt. Joey Tillman, your tour guide as you learn about the rich history of the area and view wildlife in it's natural state. Afternoon cruise lasts approximately 2 hours. Departs at 1:00 PM.
