It’s that time of year when talented students perform at the annual Spring Talent Show. The show will be held Friday, March 1 at the Wakulla High School auditorium.

This year’s lineup promises to be one of the best yet.

The band Backlash will be the opening act beginning at 6:30 p.m. and The River of Life Dancers will also be performing as part of the show’s opening.

Sixteen band students from Wakulla Middle school performed solos at the Florida Bandmaster’s Solo and Ensemble Festival on Feb. 16. All sixteen students received the rating of “Superior” which is the highest rating awarded for performance at the Festival.
Band Director Laura Hudson said the students had been practicing for several months and were very well prepared.

The fall 2012 Envision Classroom Grant selection period started off with a bang. Not only did Envision increase the number of grants awarded per quarter from four to six, but each grant increased from $250 to $500. In response, more than 30 enthusiastic teachers submitted an application in the three categories: Financial Literacy, Community Service, and Technology.
