Paul Hoover’s widow, Myrna Hoover, above, accepts a commemorative plaque from FDLE Director Tim Swearingen at a ceremony at the Capitol on Saturday. At left, Paul Hoover, who served as a Game & Fish Officer for 30 years and then worked as a court bailiff for the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office. He was also the beloved coach of the Wakulla High School track and cross country teams, and the track field is named for him. He was killed two years ago by a hit-and-run driver on Springhill Road while he was out for an evening run. In naming Hoover for the honor, his integrity, dedication to service, and strength of character were cited.
