I have heard several accounts, and know the regiment did nobly; but the boys all get so excited telling about it that I have not yet a clear idea of the fight.”
“Here goes, then,” said the Adjutant, lighting a fresh cigar. “It will serve to pass away time, which hangs so heavy on our hands in this dreary hospital.”
