This past week, we had the only supermoon of 2017. It was an extraordinary sight to behold! If the clouds prevented your view, it only takes a quick search on the internet to see some spectacular images.
Did you know that the supermoon has an effect on the tides? As the moon gets closer to the Earth, the gravitational pull causes the tides to become stronger.
According to earthsky.com, the tides rise and fall more during this time, although we are not able to feel the increased gravitational pull.
