Villages of St. Marks

-A A +A

The development has been idle for decades, but the residents enjoy the amenities

By Cheri Harris

Maybe it’s a development ready to take off.
If construction suddenly started on all the vacant lots in the Villages of St. Marks, the city of St. Marks would experience a serious growth spurt.
According to Steve Remke, president of the development’s homeowners association, about 115 vacant lots, all privately owned, remain in the development that first went on the market in 1999.
This would mean more tax revenue for the city if the planned commercial and residential lots were built out, and it would drastically increase the voting population of 273.
