On the Water March 1, 2018: Trout fishing should pick up as water warms

-A A +A

The flowers are blooming and the pollen is falling. I guess Mother Nature figured she gave us enough cold during December and January that we would just start spring in February.
The water temperature on the flats is right around 75 degrees, which is crazy high for this time of year. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of our migratory fish start to show up in the next week or two. It won’t be long before someone catches a cobia in the Big Bend if they haven’t already, if you’ve caught or seen one already shoot me an email to tell me about it.
