• Henderson marries Carmichael on May 1

    Tommy Henderson married Melissa Carmichael, both of Crawfordville, on May 1 at the home of the groom’s parents.

    The bride’s parents are Joy and Adrian Strickland, of Crawfordville.

    The groom’s parents are Linda and Lamar Henderson, also of Crawfordville.

    The matron of honor was Natalie Henderson, the daughter of the groom. Bridesmaids were Jordan Peters, sister of groom, of Crawfordville, and Britney Dekle, of Crawfordville.

  • Jessica Council will wed Meister on May 15

    Jessica Council and Jacob Meister announce their upcoming wedding on May 15.

    Council, of Crawfordville, is the daughter Cindy and Wendell Miller, of Crawfordville, and Dan Bowling, of Tallahassee.

    Meister, also of Crawfordville, is the son of John and Judy Meister of Crawfordville.

    Council currently works for State Farm insurance and plans to pursue an education to become an elementary school teacher.

    Meister currently works at Rummy’s Pizza and plans on pursuing an education to become a high school teacher.

  • Register weds Tucker

    Joshua David Register married Janie Anne Tucker, both of Tallahassee, on February 27 at Bradley’s Pond in Tallahassee.

    The traditional ceremony was performed by Pastor Gary Linton.

    Parents of the bride are Agnes Darby, of Crawfordville, and the late Ralph Tucker, Jr.

    The groom’s parents are Wayne “Tiny” Register, of Tallahassee, and the late Debbie Register.

    Xander Michael Aycock celebrated his first birthday on April 3.

    Brigham Raker Sparkman celebrated his first birthday on April 23.

  • Chapmans celebrate 35th wedding anniversary

    Chris and Mary Ann Chapman will celebrate their wedding anniversary on May 10. Their daughters would like to wish their parents a happy 35th wedding anniversary. The couple was married at St. Luke’s Church in Danville, Ohio, on May 10, 1975. They are the proud grandparents of Matthew Chapman and Colt Smith.


    Allison DeFoor of Wakulla County has been elected chair of the LeRoy Collins Institute.

    The institute is the nonpartisan research group located at Florida State University that studies and promotes creative solutions to public policy issues facing the people of Florida.  He succeeds Curt Kiser of Tallahassee.

  • Eubanks graduates from military training

        Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Derek A. Eubanks graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

         The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

         Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

  • Mallow weds Thornton

    Abigail Thornton of Dumfries, Va., married Joshua Mallow in a double-ring ceremony on July 11, 2009, at McLean Presbyterian Church in McLean Virginia.

    The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Donald Sampson.

    The bride's parents are Frederick and Neva Thornton Jr. of Dumfries, Va. The groom's parents are Thomas and Cheryl Mallow of Crawfordville.

    Maid of honor was Jessica Palmire of Dumfries, Va. Bridesmaids were Sarah Mallow, sister of the groom, of Crawfordville, Meghan Causey and Brittaney Luther, both of Dumfries, Va.

  • WHS senior will attend Naval Academy

    Wakulla High School student William Shane Matthews has been accepted to the U.S. Naval Academy.

    Matthews will report to Annapolis, Maryland on July 1.
