• Happy first birthday

    Kyleigh Bradley celebrated her first birthday on June 8.
    She is the daughter of Shalia Reshell Godbolt of Sopchoppy and Kyle Bradley of Panacea.
    Maternal grandparents are Delene and Michael Godbolt Sr. of Sopchoppy.
    Paternal grandparents are Terena and Lynn Bradley of Panacea.
    Maternal great-grandparents are Dora Mae Webster of Crawfordville,  Willie Gene Allen of Sopchoppy, Dorothy Burney of Sopchoppy and Benjamin Godbolt Jr. of Tallahassee.

  • Tillmans celebrate 50 years

    Thomas and Virginia Tillman, of Crawfordville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 24.
    They were married on June 24, 1961, at St. Clements Chapel, Episcopal Church of the Advent in Tallahassee, by the Rev. Harry B. Douglas.
    They have two children, Michael Britton Tillman and Daniel Graham Tillman and his wife Ginger, all of Wakulla County.
    They have two grandchildren, Tylher and Taylor Tillman.
    Thomas Tillman is retired from state government and Virginia Tillman is retired from the Wakulla County school system.

  • Vaughn marries Villiard

    Kevin and Brenda Villiard of Sopchoppy proudly announce the marriage of their daughter Erika M. Villiard to Jacob A. Vaughn of Kankakee, Ill.
    The bride, a 2002 graduate of Wakulla High School, enlisted in the United States Air Force in August 2002.
    The groom, graduated from Herscher High School in 2004 and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2009 after attending Olivet Nazarene University. He is the son of Scott and Laurie Vaughn of Kankakee, Ill.
    The couple were married in an outdoor ceremony in Small Memorial Park in Kankakee on May 10.

  • Surber and McCann to marry

    Gene and Darlene Surber of Crystal River are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Hannah Leona Surber to Michael James McCann, son of Cindy and Jim McCann of Elmira, N.Y.
    Hannah Surber is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a masters in aerospace engineering. She currently works as a structural engineer for the F-35 Strike Fighter for Lockheed Martin.
    Her fiance is also a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is currently a pilot trainee in the United States Air Force at NAS Whiting Field.

  • Branches celebrate 25 years together

    Jeff and Amy Branch recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
    They were married on June 7, 1986, in Wakulla County.
    She is a day care provider and he recently made master chief in the Navy. He has been in the service for 26 years.
    They have 2 children, Ryan, 22, and Alison, 21.
    They also have one grandson, Logan, who was born April 17, 2010. Logan is the son of Ryan and Tina.
    Jeff Branch is the son of the late Tom and Ester Branch and Amy Branch is the daughter of the late Burl and Loretta Mitchell.

  • Show makes dean’s list

    Joseph C. Show made the Dean’s List at Florida State University for the Fall and Spring semesters.
    He will be a senior in the fall.
    He is majoring in information technology.
    He is the son of Bill and Cam Show.


  • Walker is selected for leadership conference

    Richard Walker was selected for the National Youth Leadership Conference held in Washington, D.C., from July 10 to 18.
    According to the conference, Wakulla County has not had a representative since 2007.
    The National Youth Leadership Forum is a nonpartisan, private educational organization founded to help better prepare outstanding young people, with outstanding leadership potential and scholastic merit, for bright academic futures and successful professional careers.

  • Show makes president’s list

    Alyssa Show, daughter of Bill and Cam Show, made the President’s List at Tallahassee Community College for the Fall and Spring semesters.
    Alyssa Show has a 4.0 GPA and is also in the honors program.
    She plans to major in biology and the transfer to the University of Florida for veterinarian school.

  • Byrnes announce birth of son

    Charles and Christy Byrne, Crawfordville, announce the birth of their son, Matthew Caiden Byrne, on April 23. He weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Ralph and Betty Clark of Midway and Zane Shanholtzer of Whigham, Ga.
    Paternal grandparents are Shelia Byrne May of Crawfordville.
    Maternal great-grandparents are the late Minnie Rash and Arthur Rash of Cairo, Ga., and Lynn and Lois Shanholtzer of Whigham, Ga.

  • Rick and Elena Myhre announce birth of baby boy

    Rick and Elena Myhre, of Crawfordville, announce the birth of their first child, Robert Andres Michael Myhre on Tuesday, May 10 at 4:29 p.m. at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee.
    Robert weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19 inches long.
    His grandparents are Bob and Judy Myhre and Mike and Andrea Carter, all of Crawfordville.
    His great-grandparents are  Mr. and Mrs. Chesley Dellinger of Charlotte, N.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Andres Faza of Dade City.
