• Kish and Harper graduate Coast Guard basic training

    Wakulla native Marissa Kish graduated from the Coast Guard basic training camp in Cape May in New Jersey on Oct. 15. She is the daughter of James and Jeanette Kish of Crawfordville.

  • Manushes renew wedding vows

    John and Debbie Manush of Burlington, Iowa, were married on Nov. 14, 2002, in front of the Wakulla Courthouse.
    They recently stopped in Crawfordville on their way to an anniversary cruise. They renewed their wedding vows in front of an oak tree at the temporary courthouse.
    Those in attendance were Nell and Lois Hostnick of Crawfordville.

  • Friends of Wakulla Springs' auction was a success

    Friends of Wakulla Springs had a very successful auction to raise funds to renovate one of their tour boats.
    Everything was sold except for a couple of old desks.

    At the Friends board meeting on Nov. 3, Abal Auction, which was in charge of the auction, presented a check for $14,185 to the Friends.

  • Mathers and Smith to Wed

    LeeAnn Mathers and Jay Smith of Crawfordville announce their engagement. The bride-elect’s parents are Jeff Mathers and Sherry Dudley both of Crawfordville. The groom-elect’s parents are James and Brenda Smith of Crawfordville.

    The two will wed in Crawfordville on April 30, 2011.

  • Surber is ERAU's Homecoming Queen

    Hannah Surber was voted as the 2010 Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Homecoming Queen for 2010. 
    She is a senior at ERAU and will graduate in May 2011 with a masters degree in Aerospace Engineering.  She is a 2007 graduate of Crystal River High School. 

    She has participated in numerous functions while attending ERAU. She has been in the Honors Program since attending ERAU and has also been a resident advisor for three years. Additionally, She was awarded the position of the Chief Justice of the Student Government Association.

    Hailey Grace Carroll celebrated her first birthday on Nov. 7. She is the daughter of Brian and Amanda Carroll of Crawfordville.

  • Stricklands celebrate 50th anniversary

    Tony and Jane Ellen Strickland are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday.
    They were married on Nov. 6, 1960, at Samoset Baptist Church in Bradenton.
    Jane Ellen is a homemaker and Tony is semi-retired in dairy management.

  • Byrds celebrate 50 years of marriage

    Wesley and Patsy Byrd are celebrating 50 years of marriage. They were married in Springdale, Ark., in 1960.
    He is a painter and she is a greeter.
    They have three children, all of Arkansas. They also have nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

  • Martins welcome baby girl

    Rustie Rae Martin of Tallahassee and Joshua Thomas Martin of Crawfordville announce the birth of their daughter, Annalyn Marie Martin.

  • Miranda Taylor to wed Mills

    Miranda Taylor and Chris Mills, both of Crawfordville, announce their engagement.  The bride-elects parents are Sally and John Raker of Crawfordville.  She went to North Florida Cosmetology and currently works at Smart Styles in Crawfordville. The groom-elect’s parents are Vicki and Mike Tilley of Crawfordville.  He graduated from Wakulla High School in 1999 and works in Midway.
